501 West 24th Street, New York, NY 10011

The exhibition at Lehmann Maupin, New York (September 10–October 24, 2026) is Rana Begum’s first solo show in New York and presents sculptural and wall-mounted works that use industrial materials and reflective surfaces to investigate light, repetition, symmetry, and geometric abstraction. Works on view include pieces from her Louvre series, which explore louvres and permeability across metal, stone, and glass, and installations such as No. 1272 Chainlink (2023), a set of powder-coated chain-link “curtains” whose overlapping layers produce alternating moments of color and transparency. The presentation is shown alongside references to Begum’s recent U.S. museum debut at the SCAD Museum of Art and her public commissions, including a Climate Clock commission and an outdoor sculpture exhibition at Kew Wakehurst.
