Les Fous d’En Face

Elmgreen & Dragset

Oct 19 - Dec 16 · Tue-Fri 10:00-18:00, Sat 11:00-19:00

57 Rue du Temple, 75004 Paris

Les Fous d’En Face occupies Galerie Max Hetzler’s two Paris spaces and presents three new installations that draw on absurdist humour, spatial subversion and open-ended narratives while reflecting on the artists’ past. The works are How to Become an Artist, a hyperreal young skinny boxer in a full-scale boxing ring referencing Michael Elmgreen; The Optimist, a large red steel sphere resembling an oversized clown nose mounted on the white gallery wall with an audio clip of applause; and Il mio Giardino, a monumental monochrome figurative sculpture strapped to the roof of a vintage Fiat 500 with two small red boxing gloves hanging from the rear-view mirror.
